My last blog post was essentially a personal challenge to myself to really OWN my professional development. Like any fabulous Type-A person, I built a strategic process:
- Turn off TV. Set iPhone aside, Facebook and random email checks can wait.
- Ensure healthy snacks (i.e., dark chocolate oven roasted almonds) for low energy, fatigue-ish moments are an arms-length away.
- Schedule and adhere to bi-weekly “class time” for my MarketingProf.com Marketing Writing Bootcamp.
- Reward self for small victories, knowing a big victory awaits. Small victories included a yummy beer (or two) with friends on a Thursday night; the cookie crumble dessert from Bistro Byronz with my sister and a wonderful nap on a rainy Sunday afternoon (covered in my clean laundry).
Am I winning or losing? I think winning! At this date and time, I’ve completed 70% of my writing bootcamp!! Only 4 more classes to go and 1 week to knock this course out (queue a slightly preemptive “We are the Champions!!!!” by Queen).
Small Non-Humble Victory Ends. Music fades.
Real reason why I am writing this post: Google Primer.
It is the simplest, most user-friendly educational app I’ve downloaded yet!
What is it? Google Primer is a free app that provides to-the-point, on-the-go marketing lessons on: Content Marketing, PR & Media and Search Advertising. Each lesson includes case studies and quizzes. Oh, and each lesson requires 5 minutes (or less) of your time!
I downloaded the app last night and have already completed three 5-minute content marketing lessons. It’s like my own personal ab machine – that only requires short workouts once or twice a week for perfectly defined chiseled abs circa 2003 Britney Spears.
It is a great tool to have in your pocket, literally.
Who can benefit from the app? Marketing newbies, small business owners and anyone interested in learning from the master (Google) about marketing strategies, techniques and insights.
Visit https://www.yourprimer.com/ to learn more about the app (note: it is a pilot program for now). I wasn’t endorsed to write this post – just wanted to share a useful tool I discovered while doing some post-coursework research.
Have a tip or tool that can help me stay the course on completing my class? Feel free to comment below!
